Italian mastiffs known as Cane corso is a well known working breed which originated back to the Ancient Roman times, the breed's name roughly translates from the Latin as 'bodyguard dog.'
Corsos have been war dogs, large-game hunters, guardians, farm workers, and more over their long history. They nearly disappeared in the postwar period but experienced a resurgence in Italy in the 1970s, they were later recognised by American kennel club in 2010.
The breed is a very loyal & loving breed they are very affectionate to the owners.
In the right home they strive, can be perfect family pets & protection dogs they require a higher level of management & training to be at their best.
